Its a long drive to Plumstead, so we did try to see if we can find any Vet near us that would be as open and receptive to ideas as Dr. Mark, but didnt find any yet. Most Vets here were not even willing to have us give monthly shots on our own.
This is a great veterinarian. We brings our dogs all the way from Brooklyn for anything important.
We adopted a puppy 4 years ago and the rescue organization had puppies checked by Dr. P from Plumstead Animal Hospital. We took her back to Dr. P for spaying. Since then we always take our dog to this place for anything serious. Dr. P and Dr. Mark always look for the benefit of dog and owner. Our dog recently stopped eating, vomiting and things went bad very quickly. We took her to Dr. Mark and was quickly diagnosed with Addison's. If you read about Addison's, its a notoriously difficult disease to diagnose and people often end up at emergency hospitals multiple times and thousands of dollars in bills. Dr. Mark was very methodical, based her decisions on tests and facts. Further, Dr. Mark and Dr. P understands financial burden on pet owners and were very open to us giving Addison's (expensive) shots at home instead of having to goto Vet every month.
So thankful!! They did amazing with my Great Dane (she the biggest scaredy-cat ever)
Wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else. Dr. Petranto is the best vet we've ever had. Exceptional service and friendly staff!
